I sat down to write about the last two years, the different assignments I’ve had, the stories I’ve told, and what I’ve learned on this freelancing journey. But, in many ways, Studio Wednesday isn’t just the name of my creative freelance business. It isn’t just the logo on my invoices or my website’s domain name. It isn’t a job I clock in and out of or a business with a five-year plan (oops). Studio Wednesday is me. 

Over the last two years, what started as a “boys do it, how hard can it be?” journey has completely transformed my life. It turns out that little thing called a gut instinct, the universe, whatever you want to call it—I should have listened to her a long time ago.  

I started Studio Wednesday to divert my career path into something more creative. Through the quarterly taxes, invoices, contracts, NDAs, gear, coaching, late nights, creative stretches, and studio time, I have gotten closer and closer to me. 

So, happy anniversary to me! And if there’s anything you can learn from my journey with Studio Wednesday, it’s that sometimes jumping into the dark is exactly what the doctor ordered.
